Merry Christmas!

Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

We hope you have a very merry Christmas!!! 🙂

gleeful weddings

A few weeks ago, we tuned into Glee‘s episode “Furt” and watched the wedding scene on repeat! Yes, we admit we are gLeeky fans and have a love for Bruno Mars’ song “Marry you” (which is also on repeat). We thought the episode was very cute and fun! And yes, we do know there are anti-Glee fans who argue that the entrance is so unoriginal since it stems from Jill and Kevin’s wedding intro (which The Office copied for Jim and Pam’s wedding as well). Despite all that, we want to know….. What did you think of the Glee wedding entrance??? Did it come as a surprise?? Or is it now played out?

“Surprise” wedding entrances, dances and performances are no longer really a surprise…. or at least to me they aren’t, especially after seeing it done at weddings attended, heard about from others or seen on youtube clips. However, I definitely do not think it is played out! Even if it may not come as a complete surprise any more, it has become more like a special treat. It’s nice to know that the couple, wedding party and/or family want to make the special day a little more memorable by putting in the extra time and effort to give something even more enjoyable back to their guests and loved ones. Since each “surprise” performance is so unique and personal, it makes it that much more gleeful to watch or take part in.

AND, another thing that the Glee wedding and Jill & Kevin’s wedding entrances show is that the celebration doesn’t [have to] start at the reception, it begins with the ceremony!

“Marry You” -Bruno Mars

It’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Well I know this little chapel on the boulevard we can go,
No one will know,
Come on girl.
Who cares if we’re trashed got a pocket full of cash we can blow,
Shots of patron,
And it’s on girl.

Don’t say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we’ll go, go, go, go-go.
If you’re ready, like I’m ready.

Cause it’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

I’ll go get a ring let the choir bells sing like oooh,

So whatcha wanna do?
Let’s just run girl.
If we wake up and you wanna break up that’s cool.
No, I won’t blame you;
It was fun girl.

Don’t say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we’ll go, go, go, go-go.
If you’re ready, like I’m ready.

Cause it’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Just say I do,
Tell me right now baby,
Tell me right now baby. x2

Cause it’s a beautiful night,
We’re looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Christine & Eric

My dear friend Christine is getting married! I’ve known Christine since elementary school and although we haven’t consistently kept in touch, every time we do meet and get together it’s as if nothing has changed and we just pick up where we left off. I think these types of friendships are so precious as it is a true testament to how comfortable you are with someone and despite the periods of quiet, it shows that friendship doesn’t always mean proximity. I’m so excited for her and look forward to being a part of the planning process for her Big Day.

Christine is truly one of the most lovable people you’ll meet. It only makes sense that she met an equally lovable guy, Eric! Although, I’ve only met Eric once, his care and thoughtfulness for Christine is quite evident! It’s surprising that such a sweet couple could be criminal lawyers!!!

Christine and Eric are such a cute couple, with a great sense of humor!

Can’t wait for 2011!
