Minhee & Terry

One of my last weddings in LA, was for none other than Minhee and Terry! This wedding meant a lot to me because not only was it for one of my best friends who I love and respect so much, but I was honored to be a bridesmaid, have my son be one of the ring bearers, help plan and have live.love.create coordinate the wedding. It was also significant because soon after this wedding, both Minhee and I moved out of state to begin the next chapter of our lives. I’m so glad that we could celebrate this milestone as well as adventure together, she in Missouri and I in Texas, as we support our husbands and enjoy married life! It’s also nice to have a friend in the same time zone!

After dating for almost a decade, I had been looking forward to finally see [how] Minhee & Terry tie the knot. They did not disappoint… what an awesome, laughter-filled, fun night it was! Not only was Minhee & Terry’s wedding beautiful, it was a day that really showcased who the two are as individuals and how they complement each other as a couple. I’m sure I can speak for everyone present that Minhee and Terry’s wedding will go down on their list of “one of the best weddings ever!” Many great friendships and memories were formed that night. 🙂

A memorable moment that still makes me laugh was during the ceremony. One of the geronimo balloons popped and Minhee let out a SCREAM which erupted into uncontrollable laughter! It really set the tone and only Minhee could create an environment that was so entertaining and touching at the same time. One thing’s for sure, no matter how tough a day Terry may have, he can always count on Minhee to bring a smile to his face. In turn, Terry is the perfect partner for Minhee. You may recall from the e-session post, how sweet and thoughtful he is. He really will do anything for this girl and I mean ANYTHING, like learn the “Gangnam Style” dance for a surprise performance! Minhee had us, the bridal party, learn the dance and perform too, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Terry’s willingness to do it for her and then to actually see him dance – and dance well! Lol! It was awesome!

Julie & John

This next wedding was a special treat because Julie & John are not just good friends of ours, but “family”. Julie was there from the beginning, encouraging us as we toyed with the idea of starting live.love.create. events. It’s due to friends like her who have wholeheartedly supported and believed in us that we can continue to do what we love. We are so pleased to say that in turn, we were there from the beginning, encouraging her when she toyed with the idea of possibly having something more than a friendship with John. We watched as John pursued Julie and Julie finally returned his affections. Seeing these two together, all we can say is that the shoe fits. 😉

“So this is love, Mmmmmm

So this is love

So this is what makes life divine
I’m all aglow, Mmmmmm
And now I know
The key to all heaven is mine
My heart has wings, Mmmmmm
And I can fly
I’ll touch ev’ry star in the sky
So this is the miracle that I’ve been dreaming of
Mmmmmm
Mmmmmm
So this is love”

The cake was made by Julie. Did we mention she’s a pastry chef?!

The bridal party surprised the guests by breaking out in the “Party Rock Anthem” Dance by LMFAO. Good times!

Hanna & Andrew

About a month ago, I went to New York for my niece’s first birthday and while visiting, I had a chance to grab lunch with Hanna. We caught up on life and I was happy to hear that her and Andrew’s love and life story continues to be filled with many blessings, encouraging people and precious moments. I can’t believe Hanna and Andrew have been married for eight months now. It feels like only yesterday when we were Google video-chatting [from New York to Los Angeles] to go over the wedding details.

Hanna and Andrew’s wedding was truly a testimony of who they are as people and who they are as a couple. Not only are they fun and can dance the night away, but they are humble and God-centered. The ceremony was not a reflection of themselves but who they are in Christ and all glory and praise went to the Lord. It personally challenged me to remember Christ in all things: my daily life, my marriage, my work. I am so blessed for Hanna and Andrew’s friendship and am so excited that we were able to be a part of their special day.

xoxo, janet

We loved it when Andrew shared a moment of prayer with Hanna after the pouring of sand to symbolize two becoming one.

Hanna and Andrew’s wedding had touches of an “Alice in Wonderland” theme.

Selina & Jeff

Remember Selina and Jeff? The dynamic DIY duo who exudes pure awesomeness with their individual style and adorable love?  This wedding was so much fun, not only because of Selina and Jeff, but because of their amazing family and friends who were so involved in the creation of this beautiful day. From the flower girls’ dresses made by Selina’s mom to the pomanders made by friends and vintage handkerchief invitations screen-printed by the bride herself, we are so eager to share their fab wedding with you! *Oh! Keep an eye out for the wedding dress, also made by Selina herself!

…fall in love with baby ethan…

For those that don’t know, Eddie and I are expecting our first child. 🙂 I’ll be 36 weeks this coming Monday and we are so excited for our bundle of joy to be here already!! 4 more weeks (and maybe earlier) to go! Woohoo!! I have been really lucky to have had the easiest pregnancy ever (i.e., no morning sickness, no nausea, no vomitting, no food aversions, etc…) as well as the best group of family and friends who have been with us every step of the way, supporting us and sharing in all our new discoveries and joys….

…with that being said, my beautiful girlfriends along with my live.love.create gals, of course, hosted a beautiful shower for me and their soon-to-be nephew Ethan! 🙂 **yes, we are having a boy and his name will be Ethan**

We used a photoshopped picture of my husband’s baby photo for the invitations, which led to his photo being a running theme throughout the shower. Guests dubbed the image, the “logo.” haha.

As one of the party favors, we made mini apple-pies that guests could take home and bake. Instructions on how to bake were on the back of the “thanks” tag. And the “redeem for one hug” ticket was used for a diaper raffle.

The picnic baskets contained chips and select sandwiches from Porta Via Italian Foods which the guests had RSVPed for. The picnic baskets, along with the magnetic hearts were also favors for the guests.

We also changed the water bottle labels to say “fall in love with baby ethan” to give it a more personal touch.

Yummy Chocolate, Red Velvet and Pumpkin cupcakes with the “logo” on edible paper.

One of the many activities we had was for guests to guess whose baby picture was which guest. Very entertaining!

In another activity, we had five diapers with different melted chocolate bars and guests had to determine which chocolate it was.

One of the things I loved, were notes that guests wrote on diapers. I haven’t read them all yet, but it’s to give some encouragement or to crack a smile during those late night diaper changes.

There were a few other activities… but one that you see at most baby showers, which we also did,  was decorating onesies. We had a couple onesies with the “logo” screen printed on them. **Seriously, this should’ve been my husband’s baby shower! Hahaha.

Lovely Hosts

Thank you to all the loving aunties!! Baby Ethan is already so blessed with much love.

Prior to the baby shower, Eddie and I took a mini maternity shoot with a few elements from the shower. We had to have at least one photo with our first baby, our lovable and handsome corgi, Scout!

we can’t wait to meet you and already love you so much!

Joyce & Danny

After a happy new year and a much needed vacation, we are back and excited more than ever! 🙂

We can sincerely say that everything thus far, really did not come from anything we did but it was the Lord’s constant provision for which we are so humbled and thankful! I’m not just talking about live.love.create but things going on in our personal lives as well. We are so blessed to have the Master Coordinator and Designer pay attention to ALL the details, big and small, in our very own lives that we don’t have to worry or feel stressed.

On another note, a few months ago we had the privilege of coordinating Joyce & Danny’s wedding. I don’t know if you remember them from our previous entry but they are one of the sweetest couples ever! Joyce’s bubbly personality is infectious and Danny’s quiet sense of humor makes you wonder if he’s being intentional or not…. which in turn makes things even funnier! Anyway, one thing we admired about Joyce & Danny is not only their love for each other but their love for their families and for God!

unsuspecting Danny… 😛

An amazing bridal party that made a surprise performance of their own rendition of “Summer Nights” [Grease]!

All the invitations, programs, guestbook, party favors and even escort cards (that were in the shape of a leaf) were carefully designed and crafted together by their good friend Jacob Liao (such attention to detail, it was amazing)!!!

During the planning process, everything was geared not for themselves but to give back a message of love, thanksgiving and care to those who shaped their lives. Joyce & Danny had a running theme of a tree. Why a tree theme? I think the following, which was on their invitations, says it all: “strong trees are deeply rooted. they last for generations and endure many seasons. likewise, our prayer is to grow to a large family. one deeply rooted in faith and love. one that can endure and weather any storm.”

Calamigos Equestrian’s Little White House, where the ceremony was held, was already filled with lush green plants, so Joyce opted for a few simple decorations to not take away from the natural beauty. We hand-made the garlands to fit with the color scheme and included matching paper lanterns (that Joyce wanted in particular ;D).

Congrats again, Joyce & Danny!

One-Year Anniversary~!

Eddie and I had a Day After Shoot as part of our wedding photography package, which we never took because of our busy schedules. So, our Day After ended up becoming a one-year anniversary shoot instead (well, more like a one year and 6 months shoot)!!! 😛

Eddie and I met Mark and Candice at their home in Ladera Ranch where we finally got to meet baby Wyatt (soooo sweet) and see their new studio (sooooo cute)!

This is our third time getting our photos taken by Mark, so we felt pretty comfortable. It also helped that Christine and Erica joined us for the photo shoot to help me with outfit changes as well as providing a relaxed environment.

It took some tummy sucking to fit back into my wedding dress!

We took these photos in a field right behind Mark and Candice’s house!

Eddie is so cute! 🙂

Thanks to Christine and Erica for being my creative geniuses this day!!!

All the hairpieces (and Eddie’s matching boutonniere) made by our very own Christine {LOVEFORGRACE}

We ran out of lighting, so we took the rest of our shoot in Mark and Candice’s very own living room!

When Eddie and I got married, we decided not to get our TV set-up for at least one year…. this way, we wouldn’t always veg in front of the tube. 😛 Instead, we made a NY’s resolution to read at least one book a month. We brought along some of the books we’ve read and some of our all-time favorite books for the shoot! **For those that are wondering… we finally got cable TV installed about two months ago! Haha!

Thank you for the unconditional love, everlasting support and constant encouragement.

I love you, Eddie.

<3, Janet
