Minhee & Terry

One of my last weddings in LA, was for none other than Minhee and Terry! This wedding meant a lot to me because not only was it for one of my best friends who I love and respect so much, but I was honored to be a bridesmaid, have my son be one of the ring bearers, help plan and have live.love.create coordinate the wedding. It was also significant because soon after this wedding, both Minhee and I moved out of state to begin the next chapter of our lives. I’m so glad that we could celebrate this milestone as well as adventure together, she in Missouri and I in Texas, as we support our husbands and enjoy married life! It’s also nice to have a friend in the same time zone!

After dating for almost a decade, I had been looking forward to finally see [how] Minhee & Terry tie the knot. They did not disappoint… what an awesome, laughter-filled, fun night it was! Not only was Minhee & Terry’s wedding beautiful, it was a day that really showcased who the two are as individuals and how they complement each other as a couple. I’m sure I can speak for everyone present that Minhee and Terry’s wedding will go down on their list of “one of the best weddings ever!” Many great friendships and memories were formed that night. 🙂

A memorable moment that still makes me laugh was during the ceremony. One of the geronimo balloons popped and Minhee let out a SCREAM which erupted into uncontrollable laughter! It really set the tone and only Minhee could create an environment that was so entertaining and touching at the same time. One thing’s for sure, no matter how tough a day Terry may have, he can always count on Minhee to bring a smile to his face. In turn, Terry is the perfect partner for Minhee. You may recall from the e-session post, how sweet and thoughtful he is. He really will do anything for this girl and I mean ANYTHING, like learn the “Gangnam Style” dance for a surprise performance! Minhee had us, the bridal party, learn the dance and perform too, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Terry’s willingness to do it for her and then to actually see him dance – and dance well! Lol! It was awesome!

Christine & Brian

Last week, Christine & Brian’s wedding was featured on Grey Likes Weddings, and we’re so excited to now share their happy event with you ourselves!

Sweet = Christine & Brian

From the way they speak to each other, to the looks in their eyes, everything about these two is just sooo sweet.  It’s been said amongst mutual friends that their subtle affection for one another can cause onlookers to get goosebumps.  As we witnessed their marriage, the beauty of their love for one another on the foundation of Christ was so evident, that we had goosebumps all over!  May your sweet love continue to grow and have a positive impact on those you meet!

Kim & Eddie

I’m probably a bit biased when I say this, but Kim & Eddie’s wedding was one of the funniest weddings I’ve been a part of, which is probably a testament to Kim & Eddie’s great personalities.  Just to point out a few hilarious moments: 1) trying to help a cousin put on individual fake eyelashes 2) tourists surrounding and taking photos of us as the photographer tries to take First Look photos, providing for a very non-intimate and loud moment (which we actually had to redo and pose for), 3) Officiant pronouncing the marriage of Kim & Peter (?!?! – Eddie’s brother… the look on Eddie’s face as he turned towards the guests was AMAZING)… these and so many other moments, made for quite the memorable wedding.  Probably not the way most couples would have envisioned their wedding, but these two took everything with a humor and unique grace that is Kim & Eddie. I love you guys!

Full of Glee

A few months ago, you met my cousins Jen & Rick, and today you get to meet another cousin of mine, Kim (Rick’s sister) and her perfect match, Eddie!  Kim has always been the funny, quirky cousin, and I’ve always looked up to her for her opinions, free spirit and great sense of style (lots of anthropologie influence!)  I wasn’t sure if there could be a man with just as much spunk and wit as Kim, but lo and behold they found each other, and in a way that only two people with as much character as they have, could have met!

Eddie is from Chicago, but moved out to LA a while back to pursue his acting career.  Kim is from LA but had recently moved back from SF, and was exploring a career in pastry and baking. Around the same time, the GLEE phenomenon had just begun to explode, and a few Gleeky Chicago friends living in LA decided to throw a New Year’s Eve Glee-themed costume party.  Eddie met Kim, and their quirky humor fused into a great big ball of happy energy, bringing us to the present as they plan to forever laugh and grow old together.

These two have brought me so much laughter as I’ve spent more time with them, and it amazes more and more each time to see how God brought Kim & Eddie together to join in holy hilarious happy matrimony.  I’m thrilled to be part of the wedding and look forward to all our family gatherings with these great personalities!

Yishan & Mike

I’m obligated by school affiliation to harbor feelings of dislike for this couple, but it’s not possible to do so when they’re highly organized, have an eye for design and detail, and choose Marvimon as their venue!

Yishan & Mike are part of the Trojan family, and through multiple degrees of separation as friends of Christine’s on one side, as well as friends of Janet’s husband on the other, we were “recruited” to be a part of their team for their wedding day.  And we’re glad of it!  The energy level among their guests and the happiness evident in Yishan & Mike made their wedding so memorable. We love you guys!

Yishan & Mike partnered with friends from Viva La Art, a non-profit that works with artists to raise funds for various groups by hosting live art events and auctions, to raise awareness about the organization.  They made buttons for the work of a few of their favorite Viva! artists that their guests could collect.  We collected the whole set ourselves!

We love the 90’s

If you haven’t guessed from the title, yes We Love the 90’s!  And while there are hundreds of things that make this decade so awesome – Friends, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Simpsons, Star Wars, Pretty Woman, pagers, Discman, iMac, Super Soaker – just to name a few, we’re turning our attention on what this next couple of ours is most fond of about the time period of their youth: gangsta rap.  That’s right – 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., Bone Thugs-N-Harmony – and if you’re an O.G. L.A. native who grew up in the 90’s, you know just how tight this music was.  So don’t hate as I use some slang from the 90’s, but for both our sakes, I’ll stop making you uncomfortable with my awkward attempts.

With that being said, meet Ally & Evan!  Both have such big personalities and definitely know how to have a good time.  Now, how would we know that?  Well, Janet and I actually met Ally back in college when she came down to visit San Diego with a mutual friend.  We somehow decided to make a very random and very last-minute trip down to Rosarito to find a lobster restaurant that everyone from SD knew about, and ended up staying out pretty late… You can probably figure out why, I mean look where we were…

Fast forward 7 years later, and we randomly run into Ally in Downtown L.A. and reminisce about the last time we saw each other.  She introduces us to Evan, and now we get to help them throw the biggest party of their lives, also known as their wedding!  And knowing Ally & Evan, their guests are probably going to keep it rockin with all that 90’s hip-hop and rap!  We can’t wait!  love, erica
